We are mindful that the world and everyday looks different for all of us as we deal with the COVID-19 impact. What matters most is the health and safety of everyone in our school and community.  Last year, the third and fourth quarter was interrupted when schools moved to remote learning and their districts directed schools not to assign traditional grades for the latter part of the year. Due to these circumstances related to the Pandemic, the National Junior Honor Society Selection Process for current 7th and 8th graders this year will be conducted as follows.

In order to be eligible for consideration a student must have demonstrated the qualities of character, scholarship, service, leadership and citizenship.  In addition to these qualities, students must have maintained at least a 90% (GPA)overall Grade Point Average for Quarters 1, 2 and 3 and been named to the Principal’s List for each of those quarters.  A prospective member must not have had in or out of school suspension or committed a major offense during the previous four quarters.   Candidates fulfilling these requirements are presented to the entire faculty for recommendations.

We hope you understand our decision and efforts to make this a smooth transition for all our qualifying NJHS Candidates.

Once inducted into NJHS, all members are expected to uphold the high moral and academic standards set forth by the Anchor Chapter.  Failure to do so will result in a member being placed on probation.  A minimum amount of community service hours are required of NJHS members.

Students who meet all requirements for membership will be notified by mail.  Students who have not met all requirements will be contacted by the Anchor Chapter Advisors and encouraged to continue their efforts in order to be reconsidered in the future.
