Italian for all
Italian for all
Members of Southampton High School’s Italian Club are offering community members an opportunity to learn to speak Italian, study Italian culture and feast on Italian cuisine during a series of classes to be held throughout the school year.
Club members, under the advisement of Maria Abbadessa, will provide instruction through model dialogues, karaoke and talks about various aspects of Italian culture.
The classes will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursdays, Oct. 27, Dec. 1, Jan. 19, March 9, April 20 and May 18, at Southampton High School.
Each class will feature a unique theme and dish that correlates to what the club members are learning in school. The wide range of classical Italian fare is being donated by local businesses.
While the classes are free, donations are appreciated. Currently, there are 25 spots available per class. Reservations can be made by emailing.
The idea for the series came after several community members and teachers reached out to Abbadessa with an interest to learn Italian.
