Student earns service award
Southampton High School student Reece Nugent was recently recognized with the 2020 Long Island Radio Broadcasting Thomas Cutinella Foundation Service Award.
Nugent earned the award for his community service accomplishments. He and his peers created a scholarship foundation in response to social injustice arising out of the COVID-19 era. They raised $8,000 for the scholarship through a Mariners Run for Unity. Additionally, Nugent implemented a weekly bilingual book club via Zoom for underserved children in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of the East End. He also serves as an ambassador for the Southampton Unified Sports Program and is a translator/resource distributor for the Heart of the Hamptons.
The Southampton School District congratulates Reece Nugent on his accomplishments.
