Passing of SHS student, Ana Castro

Good Morning Southampton High School,

It is with a very heavy heart that we share the passing of Southampton High School Senior Ana Castro. Ana tragically passed away while visiting family in El Salvador. We here at Southampton High School are absolutely devastated at the loss of our student, classmate, and community member. Ana was an amazing young lady with a very bright future ahead of her.

Support services inclusive of counseling staff, school social workers and school psychologists will be available for all students upon the return from the holiday break. Family Service League of East Hampton is open, with limited hours, over the holiday break and is available for students in need of support. Family Service League can be reached by calling 631-324-3344. Additionally, we will be holding a meeting with the senior class at 8:15 AM on Wednesday, January 2nd to inform students of school-based support services and to share plans for Ana’s funeral as updated, and requested, by the family.

Lastly, on behalf of the family, we ask that you please visit the Go Fund Me page that was created by Ana’s brother. The Go Fund Me donations received will help the family return Ana to our community and assist with funeral expenses. If interested in donating, please click on the link below. Thank you.
