Cell Out for Soldiers
Southampton High School students and staff voluntarily gave up their cellphones for a school day recently to raise money for Cell Phones for Soldiers’ Minutes That Matter program.
Through donations of $5 per phone turned in, the school generated $1,405 for the cause, which equates to about 1,000 hours or approximately 42 days of “talk time” for soldiers and their families.
All who participated received an event T-shirt.
