Lori Bracey’s eighth grade Living Environment class recently took part in a genetics transcription and translation scavenger hunt as part of a genetics unit of study. Working in pairs, the students had to convert 10 pieces of DNA into mRNA and then decode the mRNA to perform specific tasks in the scavenger hunt (which also served as a quiz). The team that finished first was awarded a goody bag, and all students who successfully completed the hunt with the correct answers received a quiz score of 100%.
