Three athletes sign letters of intent

During a recent informal ceremony at Southampton High School, seniors Dreanne Joseph, Kendra Jimenez and Jarrett Helgerson signed letters of intent to continue their sports at the collegiate level.

Joseph will be attending the University of Albany, where she will run Division I track. She is a five-year varsity athlete and specialized in the 400- and 800-meter runs. She is also a school record holder for the 4x400 relay.

Jimenez will be playing soccer for Culver-Stockton College in Missouri. She has been a varsity soccer player for the past three years, during which time she made 121 saves. She also earned an All-League title as a member of her school’s varsity basketball team, as well as an All-League designation for discus and shot put on her school’s track team.

Lacrosse player Helgerson signed with SUNY Cobleskill. He has been playing lacrosse since the first grade and served as a two-year starter on defense while at Southampton. He has also run cross-country.
