A dinner for veterans
A dinner for veterans
Members of the Southampton High School Patriot Club, with the assistance of the Southampton Elementary School Student Council, recently held a Veterans Appreciation Dinner for local veterans at the Burnett Barn.
The 10th annual event paid tribute to local veterans for their sacrifices and service to the country. The veterans were treated to a delicious dinner, handmade placemats and letters of gratitude.
During the event, proclamations from Congressman Lee Zeldin, Senator Anthony Palumbo, Councilman Rick Martel and Village Mayor Jessie Warren were presented to local WWII veterans Arthur Muller and Lubin Hunter. A proclamation, as well as a flag that flew over the U.S. Capital, was also presented to the family of WWII veteran John Holden.
