Southampton appoints new elementary assistant principal

The Southampton Union Free School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Danielle Ann McCoy as its new elementary school assistant principal, effective Aug. 15.

“We are pleased to welcome Ms. McCoy to the district as the new assistant principal at the elementary school,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas Dyno. “We look forward to her future accomplishments in her new role.”

McCoy, of Huntington, joins the district from the New York City Department of Education, where she has served as a K-5 school counselor at P.S. 175 The Lynn Gross Discovery School. Other roles during her career have included program director of after-school day care at Samuel Field YM & YWHA and a youth counselor at Family Service League.

McCoy holds a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Dowling College, a Master of Science in school counseling from Long Island University and New York State building leadership certification from the College of Saint Rose.

“It gives me great pleasure to serve as the Southampton Elementary School assistant principal,” McCoy said. “I'm pleased and honored to have this opportunity to join the Southampton community and family.”
