Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American Heritage Month. Throughout the month, SHS will recognize the invaluable contributions of Native peoples. The Shinnecock and other Native peoples have shaped our community and our country. This month we honor the Shinnecock Nation and hundreds of Tribal Nations who continue exercising their inherent sovereignty. We not only celebrate their legacy but also celebrate those who continue to shape our society, lead their communities, and impact our culture today. 

Please join us in honoring our Shinnecock students, staff, and community members by supporting our upcoming spirit week, engaging in classroom activities, and participating in cultural events in and around our schools.
