Southampton musicians perform at the state capital

Members of the Southampton High School Orchestra recently performed at the Albany State Capitol as part of Music in Our Schools Month. The orchestra performed selections from “The Lion King,” “La La Land,” “Czardas” and the music of Josh Groban, along with several classical selections, under the direction of Nancy Caine. They were warmly greeted by government officials in attendance for the performance, including Senator Anthony Palumbo and Assemblyman Fred Thiele. Following the performance, the students were treated to lunch in the legislative office building, followed by a tour of the state capitol and a trip to the Corning Tower Observation Deck.
