Position Title:  Director of Human Resources

Location: District Wide – 12 month position 

Salary/Pay Scale: $135,000 – $160,000

Requirements: NYS Certification as School Business Administrator (SBA) or School District Business Leader (SDBL); Minimum of five years experience as a Human Resources Director or similar role

General Statement of Duties:

• Assist with annual business office financial submissions and audits
• Supervise the HR and Payroll Department
• Ensure Compliance with labor laws and regulations
• Manage employee relations, performance evaluations, and training programs
• Develop and implement HR policies and hiring procedures
• Support organizational goals through strategic HR planning
• Oversee Affordable Health Care Act compliance for district employees and prepare required data submissions
• Manage all aspects of Civil Service hiring, recruiting, terminations, and reporting
• Manage all aspects of NYS Dept. of Education Certifications and Fingerprint Clearances
• Coordinate with appropriate departments to post available positions internally and externally on OLAS and Indeed
• Review applicants, check references, perform background investigations, determine salary placement, and make recommendations to the Superintendent for new employees
• Help onboard new employees
• Oversee the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) program
• Oversee Frontline Central HR online system
• Serve as the Title IX Compliance Officer. Conduct Title IX investigations and employee complaints involving workplace discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation as needed
• Plan, develop, calculate, maintain, and administer accurate staff record-keeping programs and procedures concerning tenure, seniority, longevity, and benefits
• Serve as a member of the District’s negotiation team
• Work on special projects and assignments as directed by the Superintendent or his/her designee
