The District is seeking one (1) faculty member to serve as a Shinnecock Student Advocate at SES.

Responsibilities:

Serve as an advocate for Shinnecock students
Make home visits as needed
Attend schoolrelated meetings (such as but not limited to SST, CSE, 504, team and discipline meetings)
Meet with parents/guardians and students of the Nation
Attend weekly collaborative meetings with building administration and support
Inform Shinnecock families of school related information
Stay informed of each student’s ongoing academic standing
Assist in coordinating plans to support the needs of the student within the building (administration, teachers, guidance, parents and student) as each student works to achieve success academically, socially, emotionally, and as they advance towards their post-secondary goals.
Share reports on progress to the Shinnecock COT and the Shinnecock Director of Education
Stay informed, support the transition and implementation of the Extended School Year ESY services students receive to ensure compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
Work collaboratively with building administration, faculty and staff to support a positive learning environment for Shinnecock students
Partial responsibilities for this position will be performed outside of regular school hours in addition to the primary position held by the candidate

Candidate will:

Submit time sheets and professional logs reflecting performance of duties and responsibilities
Be relieved of a duty and two (2) teaching periods
