Description: Southampton Union Free School District is seeking a qualified probationary grade 7-12 math teacher who will design and implement high-quality, engaging curriculum for students in grades 7–12. The specific teaching assignment will depend on departmental needs and candidate strengths, potentially ranging from foundational algebra and geometry to upper-level electives or NYS Regents-aligned courses. The ideal candidate will foster a growth mindset, helping all students see themselves as capable mathematicians.Plan, prepare, and deliver high-impact lessons aligned with the New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to promote conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world problem-solving skills.

Incorporate educational technology and mathematical tools (e.g., graphing calculators, Desmos, interactive software) to enhance student learning.

Differentiate instruction effectively to support diverse learners, including English Language Learners (ELLs), students with IEPs/504 plans, and students requiring accelerated enrichment.

Assessment & Data-Driven Instruction

Develop and administer balanced formative and summative assessments that accurately gauge student mastery of mathematical concepts.

Analyze student performance data to identify learning gaps, inform daily instruction, and implement targeted interventions.

Effectively prepare students for New York State Regents Examinations and/or Advanced Placement (AP) exams as applicable to the assignment.
Requirements: Applicants MUST hold a valid NYS certification - 7-12 Mathematics
