Zeppole and Celebration: Students Explore Italian Heritage

Students in Dianna D’Amico’s culinary course at Southampton High School recently explored the traditions of St. Joseph’s Day, a celebration widely observed in regions of Sicily and throughout Italy. As part of the lesson, students prepared hundreds of zeppole, frying the pastries and coating them in powdered sugar before sharing them with classmates.
