Department Overview
The Counseling Department at SIS provides a comprehensive, developmental and diverse program that is designed to meet the needs of all students. Counselors work closely with students and families to provide students with academic and social & emotional support. Counseling services also include character education, pre-college planning, career counseling, parent/student annual review meetings, along with individual and group counseling.

District Guidance/Counseling Plan
The attached document outlines the Southampton Intermediate School’s Counseling Department’s comprehensive school counseling plan in accordance with the New York State Education Department counseling requirements, amended in Part 100.2(j) regulation and adopted by the NYSED Board of Regents.
Within this plan you will see the scope of services the Counseling Department offers to its student body by grade level. The counseling staff provides academic advising, social and emotional counseling, college and career counseling and parent/student workshops. Our goal is to provide a wealth of resources to help each student reach their full potential both academically and personally.
